Dana Making Machine | Plastic Granule (Reprocessing) Line Manufacturer & Supplier

Dana Making Machine (Plastic Granule Reprocessing Line)

A Dana Making Machine converts post-industrial or post-consumer plastic scrap into reusable granules (dana). A complete line typically includes shredder/crusher → agglomerator/feeder → single/twin screw extruder with degassing → melt filtration → pelletizer → dryer → silo. When specified correctly, it delivers stable MFI, low moisture, and uniform color—ready for film, molding, or sheet applications.

Working Principle and Process Flow

Sorted and washed flakes enter an agglomerator or force-feed hopper. The extruder plastifies the material under controlled temperature profiles; vacuum degassing removes volatiles. A screen changer filters contamination before the melt exits through a die. Depending on polymer and output, the line uses strand, water-ring, or die-face (hot die) pelletizing. Pellets are dried, screened, and conveyed to storage with inline MFI checks for consistency.

Types of Dana Making Machines

  • LD/LLDPE Film Recycling Lines – with agglomerator + vented extruder for thin films, carry-bags, liners.
  • HDPE/PP Rigid Recycling – intensive screw designs for drums, crates, caps, molded parts.
  • PET Flake to rPET Pellets – hot wash compatible, IV management, stainless contact parts.
  • Compounding Lines – side feeders/dosing for CaCO₃, color masterbatch, and performance additives.
  • High-Output Twin-Extruder Systems – for mixed streams and specialty formulations at scale.

Key Features & Specifications

  • Output options from 150–1500+ kg/hr with documented kWh/kg for cost control.
  • VFD-driven motors, multi-zone heating, and vacuum degassing for odor reduction and melt purity.
  • Automatic or manual screen changer (hydraulic/continuous) to minimize black specks.
  • Flexible pelletizing: strand, water-ring, hot-face die with cutter speed synchronization.
  • PLC/SCADA recipes, alarms, preventive maintenance prompts, and remote diagnostics.

Applications of Dana (Reprocessed Granules)

  • Packaging Films & Liners – garbage bags, milk/industrial liners, LD/LLDPE blends meeting printability and dart impact targets.
  • Molded Products – crates, caps, pallets using rHDPE/rPP with controlled MFI and impact modifiers.
  • Textiles & Strapping – rPET pellets for fiber, yarn, and PET strap with tensile and elongation stability.
  • Sheet & Thermoforming – rPP/rHIPS sheets for disposable ware and appliance trays.

Benefits of a Well-Specified Dana Line

  • Lower Raw Material Cost via high scrap utilization and stable regranulate quality.
  • Consistent MFI & Color using proper washing, filtration, and degassing—reduces rejection and down-time.
  • High Uptime with quick screen change, auto dosing, and robust feeding for light films.
  • Compliance support for EPR and brand audits with batch-wise traceability and energy logs.

Manufacturers & Suppliers in India

Indian OEMs offer turnkey dana making solutions with layout engineering, installation, training, and spares. Typical options include stainless steel wetted parts for PET, water-recycling modules, odor control, and bolt-on output upgrades. Specify target polymers, contamination levels, desired MFI range, pelletizing method, and required certifications at RFQ stage for accurate sizing and guarantees.

Maintenance and Safety Tips

  • Track barrel temperatures, melt pressure, and motor load; investigate drifts immediately.
  • Clean die, screens, and filters per schedule; keep spare heaters, thermocouples, seals ready.
  • Maintain wash chemistry and water quality; replace/recirculate to control ash/odor.
  • Implement LOTO, guarding, and hot-surface warnings; train operators on emergency stops.
  • Log lot-wise MFI/moisture/contamination to stabilize downstream processing.

FAQs – Dana Making Machine

1. What capacity should I choose? +
Align capacity with steady scrap inflow and customer demand. Many plants start at 250–500 kg/hr and scale to 1000+ kg/hr with bolt-on modules.
2. Which pelletizer is best—strand, water-ring, or die-face? +
For films, water-ring or die-face gives round, uniform pellets. Strand is simple and economical for rigids; choose based on polymer, output, and cooling water availability.
3. Do I need vacuum degassing? +
Yes for printed/contaminated films and hygroscopic materials; it lowers odor and gels, improving pellet clarity and mechanicals.
4. How do I control pellet quality? +
Use proper washing, consistent feed, correct screw design, timely screen changes, and in-process MFI/moisture checks with documented set-points.
5. What utilities are required? +
3-phase power, process water for washing/cooling, and compressed air. Provide ETP/recirculation for water and backup power for continuous runs.
